THREE UNCLE SAMS AND OLD GLORY STAINED
THREE UNCLE SAMS AND OLD GLORY STAINED is an 8x6 signed print on heavy paper. Using as a background 1917 sheet music by J. Edward Wooley called “There’ll Never Be a Stain on Old Glory,” I colored and adapted three found b&w photos of men dressed as Uncle Sam. They are all in the very early part of the last century. Note that The flag the guy on the right holds has too many stars. The cabinet card in the middle has a particularly large stain at the bottom. And so it goes.
Here are some of the lyrics. Pretty outdated. “Old Glory's Red stands for strength, you see/The banner's White means purity/The Blue means honor and Liberty/That’s why no other rag/Can rank above our Flag/Chorus:There'll never be a stain on Old Glory/As long as this world goes ‘round.” #americanflag #oldglory #unclesam #flagsheetmusic #vintagesheetmusic #ketchumart #peterjketchum
