ROSINA THE COOK AND MARY BLESS HER LITTLE HEART
Found b&w vintage photo late 1800's was blown-up and sepia-toned. It is mounted on a (copied) original handwritten period recipe. On the original front of the photo, bottom right, was the written word "over" which I cut out, blew up and mounted upper right. When the photo was turned over, the inscription shown was found. It was copied. I reinked/darkened the original handwriting and pasted lower left.
The recipe for a "Cheap Cake" required cooks such as Rosina to mix few ingredients: "one cup sugar, half cup butter, one cup milk, one pint flour, one egg, one teaspoon soda, two of cream of tartar." The penciled recipe was from The Tennessee and Georgia Cook Book published by church women.
